Imperative Training
First Aid Training
Health and safety training business Imperative Training came to Changing Horizon looking for an improved website which looked great, slashed paper work and improved business.
Imperative Training’s Changing Horizon team are: Custom Programmer Alex Stephenson , Operations Manager Annette Ritson.
Changing Horizon Operations Manager Annette said: “Imperative Training provides health and safety training to companies from blue chips to Blackpool Pleasure Beach. They came to Changing Horizon looking for an update to their website. The result was a radical rethink of their logistics and data management.”
“Essentially we developed a completely new online management system for the business which was better suited to the needs of a growing company.""Whether someone wants to book a food safety course or has completed their training and needs to be issued with a certificate, many of the businesses needs can be taken care of through the new website.”
Changing Horizon’s Custom Programmer Alex said: “The old system was heavily dependent on excel spread sheets and manual data entry. We have built an admin area which can better manage the whole work flow."
"This new automated process now takes care of huge volumes of work – one click compared to manual dispatch of information."“My role is core function, I’m not about design. I want to make it work. One of the best things about this project was getting the phone calls from Imperative saying, it works and it’s great. You feel as if you are making things easier for somebody and making a difference.
“Sometimes we work with people who have been doing things the hard way for a very long time. We can offer solutions and that’s very gratifying.”
Dave Howarth Imperative Training said:
“For me it’s all about relationships, about how well you get on with the individuals in the team. That’s why we chose to use Changing Horizon and it was a good decision because we’ve always had a very positive experience with them. Not just because they give that personal input but because they deliver exactly what they say they are going to do.
They don’t have an agenda, you approach them with an idea and they will tell you if it works or if it doesn’t. Some of what we have achieved with our web has been entirely down to their creativity, they have listened to us and thought about it and come back with ideas that really work.”
The team also rebuilt sister-site Defibshop.co.uk - a new e-commerce website for the only UK independent suppliers of all defibrillators.
Changing Horizon Lead Developer Stuart Rogers said: “This website was built from scratch. We needed to ensure it had excellent functionality and bring the whole site right up to date both in terms of design and the underpinning technology.
“We set out to make the site really easy and pleasurable to use. Customers can now search for product by their preferred criteria such as manufacturer and price and they can get a clear 360 degree look at each defibrillator. It also supports a whole spectrum of new media and features such such as video, customer reviews and social networking.
“We also helped integrate the website with Sage accounting, which makes invoicing automatic. We very often find customers that have a problem with their systems and processes but don’t know there are easier ways of doing things until we sit down and talk with them. There are all sorts of little bits of magic that we can do to take a load of manual work off people’s hands."“It’s great working with professional designers in house, having them integrated into the team. When the final product looks as good as this does, you’re proud to put your name to it.”
